Hi Jono, I'm not sure to be honest. The bushes were totally collapsed and I didn't pay any attention to them.

But now you have me thinking. I'm still a little way off of refitting mine but I will check on a few other cars.

If you could scan the measurements that would be great. I have heaps of torana workshop manuals but no h series.

Got a few more pics from my panel beater today.

No problem Vinny, I found an old post by HQSS on another forum confirming the rears are installed as I described.

I've met Paul a couple of times & he knows his HQ's. I've got the 2 bushes that make the 1 mount here & there's 7mm

difference in the thickness so its important their in correctly or you'll end up with a drive line vibe like mine + I've a couple

that are split anyway.

See, Fat Al the spray painter pulled my rails when he wasn't supposed to & installed the rears like the fronts so now my

drive line has more of a downward angle than it should, bit more to the story but we'll leave it at that.

Got heaps of prob's with my PC & XP posting pic's, answering pm's & nearly everything else & I'm not sure on what the legals

are putting copyrighted GMH content on here, so PM me your email & I'll keep trying till it lets me in. Plus it'll save you getting

bombarded with dodgey emails from Nigerian prince's & the like putting those details up here for all to see.

I'll send you scans of both the underbody layout & the bush installation.

J

I bought a new lock set from rares and it seems to fit quite poorly compared to the original barrel. not quite sure what I'm going to do there

I got mine from Kingswood Country. Not sure if it’s the same manufacturer as RSP. But it seems to do the trick. I think the first one was faulty however which they replaced.

made some progress, i stripped the floor to bare metal as there was large amounts of surface rust under the old paint/tar. I never want to do that again.

i also picked up a dirty old thong slapper that had been sitting for 10 years and corroded out the timing cover and valley cover. so i decided to strip it to a short motor gave it a quick valve grind new set of gaskets and a coat of paint

started assembling the interior and got the diff, chassis, eng and gear box in

Making very good progress. Must be spending a lot of hours on it. I love how you are keeping it original, or very close to it.

Thanks. I'm trying to go for a semi stock look. It has had a very hard life at some stage and is far from numbers matching so i'm trying to go for a nice semi modded gts look.

it has dyed seats and roof lining atm until I can afford to do it correctly. I will be buying new door trims, kick panels etc as they are missing or damaged.

The 253 is a $500 temp motor so I can enjoy it for a few years. Also i don't think the banjo will enjoy life as it is. I will build a SBC TH350/400 in the years to come.
