Haha yeah. Well I have no idea about motor trimming. My method would be 3D Printing the body and then Vacuum Form some PVC over them... could do that without too much trouble, but it's all time consuming and I've got other parts to make for my car.

 

I don't know how to make them soft to touch? Not sure what you put on there before Vac Forming, that will stay sweet after the hot vinyl comes down on it.

I'd guess they were made in three stages, first the plastic 'frame', then the expanding foam molded around that, then the liquid vinyl molded around that?

 

If you look at the back of one once removed, that's how it looks to me.

 

A guy who does injection molding equipment would be the one to talk to... :P

 

EDIT: Sorry, I just looked further up the page and realised I did that joke already.
