Well last minute decision to get the 'ol girl out for next Sundays winter classic.

The cars not been on track since earlier thus year, which car ran great and won the class.

We've left hp where it is as reliability is great. A normally dry motor sprung a leak which I spent many hours searching for, replacing gaskets and pressure testing hoses etc..glad to finally sort that one.

Tomorrow weather is going to be very wet, but we've still not done any testing with the watts, shocks, sway bars and speing ratea...not to mention tyres.

All going good tomorrow, I'll bed in some brakes on friday, charge the cameras and go give the big budget guys a run!

JUST A LITTLE EXCITED FOR WET LAPS!

Well what a wet day it was! Pools of standing water, and the usual couple small rivers that run across the track afterheavy rains.

Unfortunately due to higher number of categories running on the day, and the more than frequent requirement of recovery vehicles, we didn't get as much testing done as I'd hoped.

Learnt a bit about few different tyres, still impressed with the toyo r888r!

Had one fuel pump pack in on way out of the pits, fortunately i run a second on a 3 way toggle switch so flick her over and away we go!

Up working late last night fitting new front rotors, welding up and redrilling the holes in pads tonight ready fir Fridays brake bed in session. I must of got my brakes cycled perfectly last lot, as they've got 3 race meets on them and not a crack in sight, which for barbagallo in a torana is unheard of.

So got today to get everything else sorted as racers will apprecite...

Oil and filter change
Reconnect oil cooler(testing temps without)
Fit stiffer sway bar (looks like dryish race)
Fit 2 new fuel pumps
Nut and bolt check (everything touches a spanner)
Get different rubber fitted to spare rims
Brake pads drilled to fit
Adjust rear drums race ready
Wheel align
Get loaded on trailer

CLEAN

There's 3 Toranas running on Sunday. Myself, Greg Barr in his green weapon(formerly Angelo Toronto), and Stuart young in his black lj. Should be a good day..

3rd in class.. I'm happy with that! It was a very cold day , but dry and sun was warm.

Friday late arvo a managed to get to the track to bed in New pads and rotors. The weather was similar to Sundays, so we got the kart brain on and professionally installed some cardboard in front of oil cooler completely, and 1/3 of the radiator. This seemed to be on the money with but temps.

Due to the lack of dry tuning days leading to the event, my tyres and suspension was untested and a bit of a guess till qualy.

The new tyre type we put on didn't seem as good as the older toyos, but i believe missy of this was due to the suspension changes we have done recently. 3 laps into qualy the brake pedal decided to disappear, like there was air in the lines, so i cautiously put something down and came in early.

After a bleed of the front brakes it was obvious air in the front system was my problem. The change of brake fluid had backfired!

R1 i got a good start, but the brakes came to play up once again. The couple of small suspension changes seemed to work.

R2 reverse grid was a bit of a boring race once we had completed the first few laps, occasionally catching up with theU2L guys. Got a 3rd.

R3 we decided to put the 3 meeting old toyos back on and make couple tweeks to the rear end. The car was on song! Was handling beautifully and we'd changed the brake bias a bit to try give the fronts bit less work. The car still needs some setup work but we're certainly close.

I'll upload vid and some pics once I've got it all sorted!

Nuh grant, literally have done 3 full meetings at barbagallo, which anyone who's raced here can verify the track destroys tyres!

They might just be a freak set...

Sorry just re-read.. yes they're the proxes r888R

poor quality, and not the hardest working section of barbagallo. Really have an appreciation of what the suspension goes through and withstands after watching a full race of this footage!
