Need to R&R the engine bay skirts on LX.

Car atm is on rotisserie only bare shell.

My question is will it move and put each rail out if i un-pick on rotisserie.

Gut is telling me yes, but open to all on this one as don't wont to stuff up.

If any one has done before any tip would go a long way.

Not a noob , done floors, trans tunnel  just the skirts have me thinking its going to move.

 Thanks Matt

If in doubt, then maybe on a flat cement floor with legs under the rails? Nice avatar by the way. I always wonder what happened to that motor.

Whichever way you go I'd thoroughly document the work if you are removing & refitting the panel with the chassis number. Could save some unwanted speculation and insinuations in the future, esp if your LX is an 8VD69.

If your really worried about movement/shifting make a brace and bolt it to the bottom side on the rails tie-ing the front together and take the front end weight off the rotisserie.

Cut section about 200mm long (or shorter if concerned). Weld the skins together.  Go the next 200mm. Weld skins together.

And so on and so forth, once completely welded, grind back and lay another bead on it all the way along again.  I'd recommend trimming the lip running along the rear of the firewall too.
