I have looked but havent found the specific answer.

Did any LX hatchback come in 4 cylinder? I had always though sunbudgie 4 doors and UC's did but dont rememer ever seeing LX 2 door 4 cyl.

Happy to be wrong - was looking at one last night and wondering......

Yes, a 4-cyl LX Hatchback would be a very rare beast in Australia.

When the LX was first introduced, the 1900 Opel was only seen in the 4-dr sedan in both S & SL trim, but an SL 1900 Hatchback was made for export.

The 1900 sedans were superseded by the Sunbird sedan in Nov 76. In Sept 77 a Sunbird Hatchback was introduced for the Australia market.

The UC replaced the LX in March 78, so the Sunbird Hatchback model was only on the Aussie market for around 5 months.

Seen a few

Mate used to have a burgundy one here in Perth in the 80's

Part of the reason I bought my first SS... loved his old hatch

RED the rusty hatch is a Sunbudgie.

CLX (i think Sept 77).

I had a '78 Sunbudgie with a Opel.
