EDIT: Actually, looks like everyone is screwed...

Now that's a shame. I don't know what their Torana kits were like, but I bought a Pro Stock, and later a Hornet bonnet scoop from them years ago and they were pretty good quality.

Once again, give 'em a ring as you never know what they might have laying around.

Shelly put me on to these guys "Queensland Custom Fibre" the owner Grem gets a lot of good reviews on social media as he says he has spent a lot of time fixing up the moulds so they fit better as most are crap.

I have sent an email so will see how it goes.

Did the originals curl around like this at the bottom??

That's what I was talking about earlier, I think the original shape did curl in toward the wheel at the bottom like that but over the years they've been opened out to allow more tyre clearance? Buggered if I know how that green machine pictured above even turns corners?

While we're on the subject, may as well throw up some pictures of nice transitions to the front spoiler I've seen over the years...

That Absynth job is nice but I bet a bugger to remove, plus it is the SS style spoiler not the A9X.

Yes Bigfella, they just wouldnt work on mine as Id never be able to turn with 10x14 hotwires on the front.

I might have to look for a set that is half decent in quality then massage the front to allow clearance. Probably end up back with what I have now.

It wouldn't really be any different at the sides with an A9X front spoiler, and if the spoiler still splits in the middle I don't think it would be that much harder to R&R either?

Where it would make a big difference is if you make a habit of smashing your front spoiler on curbs and the like, having them molded together makes it hard to replace one and not the other.

But in real life, how often do you remove your flares or change your spoiler, versus how much cleaner it looks the rest of the time?

EDIT: It's not too late Shelly!

After a bit of Photoshoping this is the end shape I think I will need due to the wide front wheels

I've also seen some cut 'n shut the flares to make the opening longer, which may be easier than completely re-shaping the front and back of them...

Credit to whoever owns this, and my apologies for not remembering who you are.

EDIT: Actually that would be the opposite of cut 'n shut... maybe cut 'n open?

There is another mob called The Spoiler Shop in Myaree Brett. The claim they have "The best quality Torana flares available".

I can't really see how people have trouble with getting it right. Once the front spoiler is in the right place and level, it is just a matter of getting the back of the flare level with the bottom of the guard.

These aren't perfect, but like I said above, they were just one of 263 sets fitted at Pattersons by whichever lacky was walking past at the time. (Front spoiler is GS Motorbodies. I still have the original but it has hit a lot of kerbs over the years.)

The bottom pic has very strange door alignment! Look at previous pics to compare. Skirts painted black makes me think mockup L34

That was the test mule GMH built out of an SLR/5000. Probably the only set of flares fitted at the factory.

They dont have that radical turn in at the bottom of the front of the flare like some seem to have. Due to running wide wheels on the front and being able to turn the steering without fouling the flare.

Well the flares arrived from Repliglass and am reasonably happy with the product. At least it is a shape I am happy with. I removed the old flare and roughly sat the new flare where I think it should go. I also am happy that I can turn full lock and the 10" fronts just miss the flare. Now the hard stuff as I now have to weld up the old holes where the old flare was fitted too high and add some steel as the arch has been cut out too high and doesn't leave any steel to bolt too in the new position. I was thinking of sourcing new guards but it seems to be in the too hard basket.

Take the guards off and use them to beat up the guy who fitted the last set.

Just bear in mind that if you ever fit a larger rolling diameter tyre/wheel you'll want to reverse those changes and gain more height clearance again
