When doing an oil change on cars with sump plugs on the side of the sump. (mine is a VF Calais V6) You line up the oil catch pan in what you believe to be the correct position and the red hot oil either flies out of the sump and overshoots the mark or it dribbles out all over he floor. Then needs to be moved as the oil drains and the distance of the stream changes. Why can't all sump plugs be on the bottom???

Landcruiser 100 series is at the bottom, so no spilt oil. But then you unscrew the upside down filter and it goes bloody everywhere. Then there is the V8 trayback with the oil filter inside the sump!!!

My 2004 Prado's oil filter is upside down as well but has a catch tray and hose that ends up next to the drain plug so it all ends up in the container. Thought the hilux would have been the same.

geez...our 2005 Prado has the upside down filter, with the little catch tray..but no hose...so it just spills out and runs down the engine.
Thus,  1 oil change =  filter, some oil and a can of degreaser!
Oh what a feeling

My trusty Camry is the same as above.

There's so many more frustrating things in life than that though.

This could become a very long thread once people really vent their frustrations.
