Highly recommend people check to see if they may have a vehicle that is on the recall list.

Geeze! I didn't realise the fault went back that far. I'm safe though, doesn't pay to update the daily too often. Thanks for the info.
Cheers,

I work for a Mitsubishi dealer & submitting the warranty claims back to the factory for payment.
The amount of work is insane.

Can you get your hands on a MMCS Map DVD newer than 2012?
Mine is booked in for August 24, epic back log apparently!

Misses car is an 08 Mazda 6. Will have to ring the local Mazda dealer and get straight on it being the family car and all. Cheers to the OP.
Rang Mazda and they said the recall on our vehicle is actually the passenger side airbag, presuming the inflater. That's where I sit

Takata have gone belly up as far as im aware due to the issues, killed the company.
So not sure who will come to the party
The vehicle manufacturers will wear the replacement costs then.

It's frustrating that we had to do this a few years ago and are now being told that it has to be done once again.
Last time our 06 corolla was done there were marks on dash from where they'd levered the top of the dash pad off and other signs of their work that I can't recall. I went back inside and told them about the problem, they told me to book it in and bring it back another day, I told them that I wasn't leaving until they fixed their poor quality work.
As you can imagine I'm really looking forward to repeating the process.
If someone was buying a car from this era as a used car is there a way to find out if the recall work has been done on that particular car? Obviously the dealer's and manufacturers have a record of this.
Owners can check their cars via the manufacturer contacts on the ACCC's website.

Is there an easy way to disable the airbags on the Tritons? My neighbour has one that is only licenced so he can drive it the few kilometers between his blocks which are 50 kays from the nearest town.

I dare say the wiring to the airbag/s could be disconnected, downside would be the constant SRS fault display on the dash.
Perhaps the best thing would be for him to get the air bags replaced if his Triton is affected by the recall.

Yeah, for sure. But it is a 150 kays to the nearest dealer. Will Mitsubishi pay for the lost day?
