I can find these ones from ProFlow/VPW (around $600):
http://www.ebay.com....W4AAOSwXYtY2NWP

And these ones which are only $400 with no brand name attached:
http://www.ebay.com....xIAAOSwfRdZKXN2

Both seem to have 1-5/8" primaries and not be cone-over design on the first merges. I can't really see much difference between them from the photos. Anyone have experience with either of these? Fitting? Presentation? Decent Mandrel Bends? General Quality?

Probably going to cut the merges apart and expand the outlets anyway, just wondering if I should spend the extra $200 on the VPW ones, or if they are all crap and I should make my own.

With your skills better off making nicer ones if it's going to be a big banger particularly when secondaries get chopped off for 2 1/2 or 3" to collectors with most brands.

Most aftermarket just look like extended hsv/calais steel headers

Depending on engine spec the factory steel headers arent too bad modified for basic efi 5l with small cam & banana manifold.

~450hp is my estimate, I'm led to believe 1-5/8" primaries will suffice, collectors I'm not sure. The ones I'm looking at certainly have smallish collectors.

I don't think I really want to spend months building my own extractors...

I'd be inclined to find a good set of second hand HSV style headers with the twin pipe flange at the secondaries, and modify them to suit. Have seen plenty for sale including stainless (although not as shiny as your examples) and they are not a bad design. You could remove the flange entirely if its in the way, and either way this would allow you to build a bigger collector but not have to start from scratch.

I'd try set of vn-vs hsv/calais steel headers & modify the bottoms after large cone to suit your car.

Last runner on some models are bad but easily fixed.

They'd be on their limit at 450hp but damn cheap & easy to fit/use

Had them on my torrie & on brother's vs maloo both mildly modded...swapped brother's out for nice pacemakers,it sounded nicer, revved cleaner but for the money & fitment not that great compared to what twin cats did for his car.

Got 1 5/8 3" secondaries on f280/355/4500 stally...pipes are said to be on small side & horrible at sump as pipes go around steering link..has heaps of torque down low
