Hi Gaz, have you tried your automotive paint Store ? Seriously they type in a year make & colour name. If they can't find it get another shop, why is there so many dickheads in paint stores now. 2e001 is two pack, you need solvent based "solid" no clear probably 4 litres of saffron & 1 litre of black. Good luck Gary.

Ask Keith he did his back to the original Saffron. Just give them these numbers and they will sort it for you: 1881 - 15823 - 2E001.

The 15823 will be the acrylic version, i only had access to the 2 pack formula. Protec is ppg's cheaper version, pretty sure that it's called Para glaze in the solvent based system. I presume that you know the mixing formula, but I'll explain it for a 1 litre mix. Take 1 litre of the saffron paraglaze part a, mix it with 500 ml of hardener part b, stir & then add 10% ie 150 ml of reducer, re stir that will give you a total of 1.65 litres or approximately 3 pots on a gravity feed gun, use a 1.2 or 1.4 tip roughly a 20 minute flash time & i stick with standard speed hardener. I forgot to say i use q brands professional masking plastic, $31 for 120 a meter roll. & obviously if you want to paint it in an original style, the whole body will go saffron 1st, rub down the black out areas & paint them over the top in solid as well, to obtain the original style edge. I use 3m fine line tape, obviously the 3mm turns a nicer corner & 3m masking tape. Gary.

You can phone PPG on 132424. If colour not formulated in 2 pack it can be requested. May take a week or two but they will match back to the original acrylic standard. Protect is a cheaper product and compleatly different to their premium product. I'd advise contact your local area rep for tech support as there is a few tricks I use which gives great results. I know this because been working for PPG for 15 years and painter for 38 seen it all from acrylic to new us and ceramic clears.
Cheers

Hi John, do you mind if i ask you the trade price per litre on ppg, not your buy in price, that's only your business to know your price. Most people only want to spend around the protec price range normally I've noticed. Hence why i mentioned the protec system. You can just pm me if you prefer, Gary.
