Slow down a bit.

You want an auto to manual spigot bush, but say the manual spigot bush is no good to you?

Do you want an auto spigot bush?

Or are you using a non aussie gearbox? M20, M21, and M22 aussie four speeds as well as M18 aussie three speed all use the same spigot bush.

What do you neeeeeeddd??? Speak to me with your words.....

Same same, take the auto spigot bush out, press the manual spigot bush in, bolt the m20 up using the spigot bush you pictured.

The brass bush is a press fit, is this where you are getting mixed up? Cant just slide it in there.

Ok will pop out the auto locator and fit the brass spigot. I just doesn't look to fit. But it must then.
Cheers

Where did you get the spigot bush?

If I remember correctly a few years ago another forum member had a similar problem. The bush he bought from Supercrap was the wrong size.

Dave it's a Holden one that came out of a crankshaft the M20 gearbox was attached to

I will knock out the auto locator in the new crank and fit the above spigot to the crank and all should be good.

Yep there is definitely absolutely positively no difference in the spigot bush bore for any holden six engine.

Hi guys, this is how i have done it previously. Put the new spigot in the freezer, when I've had trouble removing the old spigot, simply use a heat gun on the top setting "sensibly" & then spray some loctite freeze & release around the spigot, give it 2 minute's to do it's thing & it should come out pretty simply. Fit the new spigot in the crank now making sure the bush is central to the input shaft. Gary.

Before installing the new bush, you should impregnate it with oil by putting one finger on the bottom of the bush, fill it with oil and then put your thumb on top of bush, apply pressure till the oil comes out through the sides of the bush.

One drop of oil is all that is required to lubricate the bush.

They usually recommend that the bush be soaked over night in oil or pressure primed  prior to use, they are phosphor bronze and are very porous , you would be surprised how much oil they soak up, bought a couple a while ago and had them in a sealed bag with about a teaspoon of oil in each , came to needing

one and after a while and they had soaked up most of the oil , just an observation.

GMH recommend one drop of oil only.

Was reading the workshop manual for L4 models and in the section it says to saturate the bush.

However L6 section says a few drops as per " installation-clutch" para 1.
