i have just took of the weber carb and put on a 4 barrel on my turbo 6.all of the vacuum lines were fitted to the carby manifold and everything was working good, since gone to a 4 barrel holley the provision on the carby manifold are blanks so we are running the brake booster hose with a check valve to the intake manifold. And put a tee piece between the brake booster and the check valve for the auto trans vacuum hose. The problem is when in drive just a little bit of throttle it take a fair bit longer to change gears, also when in boost from secong to top gear it takes about 1 second to change gears, never done this when the trans vacuum hose was in the carby manifold.also in top gear doing about 80 kays in top gears just slightly squezzing the pedal down it changes back to second then goes back into top gear, the trimatic is a built trans to suit turbo.

Try running the vacuum modulator straight to manifold (no check valve)?

^^^ correct. The vacuum between the check valve & the booster is at a constant high, which no good for an auto trans modulator.

The modulator needs to 'sense' as the vacuum goes up & down in the manifold. It cannot see that change if it connected above the check valve.

Also, I hope we are talking about the intake manifold between the carby & the turbo, not the boost manifold between the turbo & the head.
