Sorry for the derail- but 26PSI and duralite pistons? Since you are asking about ring gap, I presume you havent built the motor yet? If so, I would seriously consider forged pistons with that kind of boost.

Sure you can run cast slugs and it will probably hold up, but at the end of the day you are only a few bad batches of fuel away from damage with that kind of boost.

In saying that, if you run good fuel like E85 and are conservative with timing, you should be sweet...

I think most of the feedback you'll get on here will tell you to run forgies for 26 pounds of boost.

I'm a mega tightarse and I still ceramic coated my Hypereutectics slugs even to run only 10psi.

I know people that have drunk their own piss, doesnt make it a good idea though.

If you run good fuel (E85) you will probably be ok BUT I would still be hesitant leaning on it.

If you're even thinking about going to 26psi, chances are you'll be leaning on it pretty hard at some point in time. At that point, when the rods come flying through the block you'll wish you spent the extra dollars on good pistons. You get what you pay for mate.

Yeah at the end of the day if you want real world advice why dont you ask the "others" who have "run 26psi on duralites" what ring gap they ran?

If you want speculation, bullshit and people trying to get you to spend the $7 extra it is to get forgies over duralites then ask in the forum that has the highest saturation of guys who have done silly things with Holden sixes then argue with everything said hahaha.

I'd go about .020" or so btw.

the main thing is no detonation you should be alright with cast pistons, i would be buying a set of h beam rods, conrods and rod bearings will take most of the punishment.just for piece of mind run forged piston=insurance.

Mate, given the amount you are going to spend, it really isn't woth the risk.
