Back to the V8 Holden - A lady at work swears that her parents had a HR Holden with a 253 V8 and it was factory. I said that's impossible because they didn't come out until HT. Maybe it is true and it was one of the test mules???

I read that Engineering did use a HR as a test mule during the development of the Aussie V8 however I highly doubt GMH would have sold the car with the V8 still fitted.

Yep.  It was a model for the WA Kingswood. It was on the drawing board up until things got serious with the V Car.

Why?

I have seen another shot with an Isuzu ute (prior to it being named Rodeo) being set up on top of a building to advertise it for Holden.

Perhaps this was a similar thing?

Who are these guys?

Looks like a Circus tent. Holden Bros Circus?

The LX hatch was being set up inside the venue for the Holden Dealers LX Torana Convention in Brisbane early 1976.

The driveline was removed prior to the car being fitted to the specially made lifting cradle. Once inside it was put back together and the whole procedure was repeated to get it back out again.

Holden Brothers Circus.post-26163-0-95572200-1506992064.jpg
The Holden Brothers Circus was founded in Melbourne in 1892 by Adolphus Holden. ... The circus continued touring Australia until the early 1950s, being managed by Ernie Holden, one of Adolphus' sons, after Adolphus' death in 1938.
