Yeah, the mechanic said its mostly the diff that gets hot. Think he said don't take it over 80khs. Also told me try not to keep it on the same speed for extended duration and try to vary my speeds for a while. For a 1000 kays then all the fluids need to be changed.

Hey Laurie, was it yourself that asked the question about the air filter size. If so I will let you know a bit later today :).

Thanks Aaron, I appreciate your kind words. I am enjoying driving her around. I used it for a delivery today :). Need to get some kays up before I torch the tyres. They have just hit ten years. Have been told insurance company's don't like them past that. Good excuse :).

Indeed :). its sort of calling me lol. I would take it out for a drift but I cant drift. With that handbrake I think Ken Block would struggle. After the kays have been added of course :).

We used to poke a 20 cent coin in behind the knob to hold it out. Left foot on handbrake and right foot on clutch. Then let everything go and get back on loud pedal.

Sounds to me Laurie, that you are the reasons they had to introduce the hoon driving laws. You young whipper snappers letting rip at the drop of a hat. Leaving the next generation to take the full brunt. Now I know where the saying (my two bobs worth) came from. Meaning jammed in my hand brake. I am not sure if your that guy on Bogan Hunters wearing the Street Machine T shirt ?. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable lol. Get a Hair cut

Hello Again Resto Rage Readers, I hope you have been working on your cars. Its one of those things, money and time. Getting no real reward for the effort. This happens for years and feels never ending. Going without buying parts or finding the right parts and not having the funds. This is normal, don't let this stop you. There is an finish line, there is reward. You get to drive. Wake up in the morning and turn the key. Listen to the exhaust and smell fumes. People making comments. Unfortunately you have to go through the years of torment. Be assured this will not go on forever. Keep ticking them boxes. A rolling stone gathers no moss. The reward is there, so go and get it.    Ray

Hello Again, Rest Rage Readers. Hope your projects are moving forward. I have been enjoying driving my car. So far I have had to change three fuel pumps. The last one and seems to be working well is the Goss Mechanical. The others kept leaking out the breather. Now im thinking I have done a head gasket. Gave the skinny petal a push a few times and noticed the temp was right up ffs. Got her home and found some oil type shit on my radiator cap. Nothing on the motor oil dip stick but think its only a matter of time. Had the motor and box sitting for over ten years so sorta expected. Changing to classic rego atm. Trying to motivate for the removal of the top of the motor and exhaust. Is permaseal head gaskets the best way to go. I don't want to go back in there later to re-tension. Ray

Why don’t you do a leakdown test and check your tune before pulling things apart? Pretty quick to do.

Oh the joys!!!!!

Spent the whole of last weekend trying to get the k frame (complete with engine and trans) back under the car.  Simple getting it in but what a pain trying to get it lined up.

After doing that dug up the trans linkage rod that I had bought yonks ago just to find out that it's about 5cm short.  Rod diameter is 9.7mm (plated) but could only get 8 or 10mm rod at the local steel merchant.

After reading through the recent thread on accelerator pedals and kickdown brackets I have identified that my pedal bracket is for 6 cyl (I don't think that will matter as not intending to run the acc. cable as per original) and the bracket is off a H series model. Took a while to track down a bracket and Holdent have sourced one for me in SA but still waiting for it to arrive.

Looking for some form of battery bracket to fix to the hatch area (not after anything lavish, just neat and somewhat universal in case I need/want to change batteries at some stage.  Found what i thought was ok but can only get it from the States at present and cost prohibitve.  So drag out some sheet metal and start trying to fabricate something up myself.  This will be a laugh I'm sure.

So jumping from one thing to the other just to try and keep it moving forward but not really getting anything finished.  Have a great weekend. Cheers Ron

Installing electric fuel pump relay and wiring

Drop steering column - check

Unscrew dash - check

Open glovebox to get the last 2 screws - LOCKED  - no key and spend the next 2 hrs googling and trying to pick the lock

Turned the shed light off rang a taxi and went to the pub for about 6 odd pints

Problem is still in the shed waiting for me

If fitting a battery inside the cabin, make sure it comes with a vent tube to outside.

Hey Dave, Just like that old saying. If I didn't have bad luck, then I would have had no luck at all. I have worked out :), for every hour I think its going to take me (add 2hrs). Just knocked up a new parcel shelf. I estimated 4hrs. Think I need to start adding 6hrs for every hour estimated. I didn't think I could paint. Well I can. I just cant prep. To be honest , I am a Fu*k#n Joke. No skills in this area (AT ALL). I would prefer to do open heart surgery on my self than to ever experience Prep. Hate Prep. FU Prep. Anyway.
