The power steering pump if that's what its driving, looks like an Asin pump commonly fitted to Toyota  vehicles, Crown, Hilux, Hiace and others.

Correct ^^^

Yes, I'd say it was assembled in Indonesia.

The "Made in Australia" bit is probably OK, depending on how much was manufactured here.

It could be that the body was welded together here & then paint, trim & final assembly was carried out in the Indo plant.

None of the numbers line up with Aust assembly, especially the paint & VIN numbers.

CKD kits assembled by UDT Indonesia under contract from GMH.

I suppose that explains the UDT prefix to the Body No.

Thanks for all the comments. I found a good article online (attached) which would explain a few things.

PT Udatin  (Usaha Dangang Teknik Indonesia) hence the UDT prefix on the body number.

The assembly plant was located in Surabaya, East Java.

You are probably too late now Peter. Most of the good cars over there are either owned by Indo (or African or Malaysian etc etc etc) enthusiasts or they have already been sent back here to Australia. There was a massive warehouse full of N.O.S. parts found in Thailand two years ago, but that has been cleaned out now too.
