If you don't want to go out with flares then go inboard with tubs. Nice look on a smoothed torana.

I'm trying to get a 17 x 8.5 Simmons and 235/40 in the rear and even that is proving pretty tight.

I'm putting 17 X 8's on mine (245/40's) but had to tap in the inner seam and roll the guards. But that's with a 9 inch made for it. Cheers Ron

I have 14 x 8's on my unflared hatch with the rear of mine with a 9 inch and the guards have not been trimmed or rolled. I currently only have a 225 tyre and am going to try a 235 or 245 very soon. I am unsure on the offset but the wheels are dragway draglights.

I have 17x9.5 on the back of my unflared LX.

Relocated the damper into a coil over setup through the spring perch, moved back the inner sheet metal in the arch (inner) to the chassis rail (I didn't touch the rail)

I ran the same on my lh years ago, guards rolled, could have possibly just run a 265, but the 245 never rubbed. & i ran a 195 on the front.

I'd say you'll have to move the inner wheel well at the seat belt mounting point and will definately have to adjust the inner wheel well at the rear.

Benno,

Any pics of your damper relocation with the coil over setup in the spring perch?

Cheers, Tom

I got 15x10's on mine but had to cut the original guards out the way and also have flares.

tyres are 295x50 with a 9 inch, no scrubbing, I also put the thicker 12mm springs.
