Smee again

So I have been after a VP 5.0L 5spd for some time.  Well I have finally got one to play with and I am stoked at the condition.  It is a Berlina and factory optioned with a 5 spd, IRS, ABS and LSD.  So a pretty rare car for the day. Anyway, I want to fit a VT brake upgrade to get it stopping a little better but the hurdle I am facing is that most aftermarket kits won't fit because of the ABS. So has anyone done this conversion and know of a suitable kit with works with ABS?

Cheers, Gerry

Is the abs sensor in the normal spot?

So would it work just using an ABS disk instead of the non ABS disk most kits come with?

Maybe move the bracket for the sensor?

I have no idea really I just cant see how it could be a big issue. Its just a slotted ring on the back of the disk after all.

Once you get the VT's on and sorted and find out the pedal is horrible you will need one of these as well.

Bomber the ABS ring sits on the back of the disc/hub

On the VT conversion hubs they are not machined to take this disc

However... you might be able to machine the hub to accept it... but no-one makes one ready to go

Clearances are important if you want the ABS to work ... measure measure measure

Talking factory 330mm twin piston setup which doesn't bolt up to vb-vp struts anyway lol.

Vt booster has f/all rocker cover clearance but agree standard brakes are horrid on these.

SV5000 or vn group a brakes would be no-brainer if you could get find caliper brackets & caliper without costing a kidney

Yes that has been a consideration but you are limited to a minimum of 16 inch wheels.  I am running 15 inch chasers and want to maintain that option unfortunately..
