I'm picking up another piece of the puzzle soon.

I'll be spending some big dollars on this Blue 202 and have been speaking with a builder in Sydney with the aim of It being able to run the little LC down the 1/4 mile in mid to low 12 second times, which will make for a fun little motor on the street.

Scored an LC GTR model for Fathers Day.

It's even in the colour I'll most likely be painting mine :)

Now it's near the TV in the lounge room so I can stare at it for motivation.

A nice little milestone with the Torana today. After nearly two years of owning it I completed the last rust repair on the drivers side of the car. There’s only a couple of smaller repairs to do on the passenger side now

Rust and an old repair in the drivers side rear

The LC is still for sale but I'm flying down to pick up the new car on Thursday and the excitement is killing me!

Here's a pic of the new one getting bath ready for me to take her home.

I'll start a thread on the new one once she's home.

Can't wait!!

Looks really good. I wouldn't touch it, just enjoy.

Although I'd possibly do the strips under the side windows..,

It's actually a 1970 LC that has been modified to an LJ years ago with the LJ nose cone and Dash etc

The paint is brand new and has only been done this year.

That's the plan, I can't wait to have one that I can drive again  :D

It just needs a bit of a tidy up in the interior with new door cards and maybe carpet.

Spend the money & put quality original looking stuff in it, it's only going to increase it's value & visual appeal.

Never thought I'd see the day an 82311 would be worth going to that much effort to restore.

He knows someone that has the VIN Disc and they checked the VIN and it was definitely a GTR.

No tags though so it doesn't mean much.

I'll be interested to see it when it's finished

Lot of things get done for the fun of it and don't make economic sense. Just people with skill, motivation a nd time on their hands. And more money than sense of course. That always helps. 8D

The VIN tag number might be GTR but the body shell isn't?

See the pissy little hole (yellow arrow in pic) drilled in the firewall for the brake pushrod. Your car was originally an 82311 with STD front drum brakes.

The chassis number alone will not identify the car as a GTR.

By the looks of the tools in the back ground he is a metal man. Great to see its going to be saved no matter what it is, I have a complete perfect rear cut if he is keen.
