I have done a few of these conversions and documented the info.

 

Updated 16-10-2017- Added bench testing info, needle weights, some corrections and cover page.

Sharing is caring! This forum and the members have given me plenty of help  and info. Its a no brainer giving back.

 

I also investigated using a VN/VP tacho but found that chip and design where dedicated to the scaling of that tacho.

It wasn't as flexible as the VR/VS tacho design.
You also cant use VX/VT tacho because that is cluster on board, fully electronic and runs completely off the ECUs.

 

I have updated the PDF with  bench testing info, needle weights, some corrections and a cover page.
