Morning

Looking for info on what different heights of A9X bonnet scoops are available out there.................

I currently have a 100mm height scoop which is too low for my cold air intake set up due to the height of my inlet manifold setup and the 130mm is way too high.

Does anyone do a scoop in between 100mm and 130mm?

Thanks

Eldo

There are a few guys who make the "reverse cowl" bonnets at various heights. But they look nothing like the bolt on Torana scoop.

My SS had that style scoop with the raised ridge at the back of it too.
Wasn't even mounted correctly at the back of the bonnet. Was about 50mm forward.

Grinder and fibreglass and tape and modify a normal one might be an option

Hi Eldo, I had a fibre glass scoop on my Hatch, it was 110mm at the windscreen, but it was about 200mm longer than the A9X replica scoop, so the point where the curve starts was further forward. You may be able to find someone that still makes them. I sold mine for a replica scoop as I didn't like the way the larger one looked. I have a high rise intake manifold, 1 inch carby spacer, 14" (large) air cleaner, standard Torana engine mounts and still have clearance to my scoop, Is there anything you can do to modify the cold air intake or go to HQ engine mounts? The HQ mounts drop the motor by 8mm.

This is what it looked like.

I believe there is only one height for the A9X scoop. Back in the 80's, one company in Sydney was selling what they called A7X scoops which had a lower profile but it was an aftermarket product, I'm sure many fibreglass companies made copies that aren't exact to original.

Those ribbed scoops that are trendy these days shouldn't be called A9X scoops imo.

Try Grem at Queensland Custom Fibre (on facebook). Based in Redcliffe QLD. Makes a lot of Torana accessories like scoops/flares. He may be able to make something to suit your needs
