Have a mate who is doing this and he was asking about clearances

The LX and HG tunnels had blisters designed for the T10 and Saginaw boxes so i presume the HQ would need the same

Not knowing myself has anyone had any experience with this - he will be running a Hurst shifter

I was thinking the Torana blister could be massaged to suit his application if needed

HQ came with a Muncie standard, has a wider tunnel than a Torana, should not need any work. Shifter selection could be the only issue with clearance as there are many options.

Hi Dave,

i've had both BW T10s & Muncie atm in my (sorry, nephews)  coupe & dont remember

having problems with linkage clearance. As far as shifter/blister cant help, had a Vertical Gate

in there for a bit & required a chunk of the tunnel removed. Was fun for a while but having to push

the passengers seat right back as it rubbed & reaching further over just gave me a pain in the neck &

shoulder. That & a CIG DANA 60 attracted a few frowns from the law so went back to my Hurst Indy & just

plated the hole to suit & covered with a large enough boot.

Dave, had a look in the factory manual & parts catalogue & shows a pic of the Floor Pan Extension (blister) &

lists the part as #2818264. The Indy shifter handle is bent to the right so as to exit centrally.

I've got pics of the shifter on my PC somewhere but this site is not letting me post pics atm.

I'm happy to scan the manual & jack the Q up for a pic of the clearance around the linkages to email or send to

your phone if needed.

If you use a long shift it will save cutting so much of the Tunnel if required. Bring it a little closer to the drivers side allowing the original console to be used with a little modification. Ray
