Interested to see installation pics of any one who has fitted a sub into their hatchbacks.

I have a mini powered sub (350X240X90) which was going to go under the passenger seat but wont fit...too big.

All I can think of is in under the hatch sub-floor.

Ideas and pics appreciated.

Here's an idea, don't do it. No stereos in my Toranas. I prefer to listen to the engine noise and the exhaust note than doof doof. Let's face it, there can't possibly be a better sound in the world than an on song 6 can there?

Yeah but AFAIK he's got one of those annoying eight cylinder contraptions so needs something to block out the horrible drone. :stirpot: :stirpot: :stirpot:  :D

Yeah my subwoofer is in the front. Plays Torana fm all day.

Seriously tho they are a pain for speaker placement and usually too loud to enjoy it properly.

I had 2  x 12" woofers in the wooden floor panels of the hatch area for many years.

But then I had a LPG tank and the spare tyre couldn't fit there anyway. So made use of the rest of space.

Plus it was the only way to hear any bass over the drone the v8 exhaust would create.

No none at all. I'm a metal boy thru and thru but I still wouldn't play it in my Torana thru a sub. Subs are for boy racers in shitbox commonwhores with p plates, cut springs, big rims and horrid exhausts.

I put a sub in my hatch as I didn't want to chop up the panels for bigger speakers. Its removable in about 5 seconds with plugs I put on it, and I have a little amp near the spare tyre.

I think the 12 inch sub may get downgraded to a 10 in the future as its a bit too loud but with a set of 6 inch front speakers and the little 5's you can see I can hear the music really clearly, although I usually don't turn it up too loud so I can hear the car too.

In my last hatch, a set of Kenwood 7 x 10's just fitted into the side panel in the back and they were awesome with a little amp running them.

I have a Bluetooth head unit under the passenger seat in the front now I have no console.
