Although I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, this car looks too good to pass up on. It's an SL/R with an LS1, 6 speed, and disc braked nine inch. I have only briefly chatted to the guy via text, but it seems he was building it as a race car and as such is no longer licensed.  What I need to know is how hard will it be to get it over the pits with the tank in the boot and the LS1 in it? The body looks good and all the interior is there and it's going cheap, but it's no good to me if I can't get it back on the road.

In Canberra (NCOP) rules state the tank has to be filled and vented from the outside as in connect up to the charcoal canister etc. I have a cell in the boot, but had the tank made XU1 style where it goes through the tale light panel to behind the number plate to fill up. All good for rego.

How about through a flap in the boot lid like some of the race cars did in the 70's?

Being not licensed to start with I doubt it would have an engineers report. Apart from emissions, are there any other requirements? (eg chassis strengthening?)

Guys here who have registered LS1's, did not need kits, just brake and suspension upgrades. Flap through the boot has been done, but needed the catch spillway around tank filler.

as it has the 6 speed try to get under it and see what he did around the floor support/cross member which is normally behind the shifter

hopefully it hasn't been cut out and if it has would need to have been replaced with something of similar strength

i have a chassis rail kit in mine which although not registered yet the engineer has said is good, i didn't however ask him if it was ok to go without

you can always sell that tank and put a normal one in it

will heater/demister fitted

Not sure if you went for a look

Heard its abit of a dogs breakfast from some... other say its ok

I think worth the money for a toy... and it comes with another shell... probably the shell the SLR tags came from... tail light trims usually mean SL... as on this car

So did you buy ?

Nup.  Didn't get the chance to look. Some mongrel from Perth has been cutting my grass. I was supposed to get a text from the owner to let me know when he had knocked off work, but after waiting most of the day I rang him and he told me it was as good as sold because someone from the big city was on their way down to pick it up sight unseen. I wasn't expecting the car to be an oil painting, not for 25 grand, but I was expecting some integrity from the owner. Sometimes it seems that Boyup Brook is the last bastion of common decency.

Been advertised for at least a month

So probably had to deal with dozens of wankers

So was keen for the first guy to show up with a trailer
