Can  some  one  please  confirm  that  the  black  outs  for  a  1970  LC  XU-1  are  done  in  warrigal

 

black  and  gloss  ?

As far as the Engineering Department "instruction drawing (car color spec) sheet states

ITEM 7 FRONT END SIDE MEMBERS

ITEM 8 DASH PANEL

ITEM 9 FRONT GRILL AREA

ITEM 10  FRAME&CHASSIS PAINT EXCEPT DIP

ITEM 11 RADIATOR TOP SUPPORT 

 MATERIAL SPECIFICATION GMH 3.232  ALL WARRIGAL BLACK 568-6459

 

 

So what's warrigal black GARY

Gary, reading back on old threads about the subject of boot and engine bay blacks the anecdotal evidence suggests that what the 'Engineering Instruction Drawings' called for and what the VAP's actually used were not always the same animal.

No !this is good Gary ,different opinions are welcomed,nothing wrong with open discussion without it turning into some sought of shitfight like on FB,seems to be a certain few that's got some Torana sights sewn up and can't even question anything without getting scoffed at.This is still a great source of info BETTER than FB.

Maybe the colour varied between models and years ,even factories.Yeah looks gloss .

Mate there's your answer ,thanks crabb for putting up the proof.
Warrigal all the way.The new paint is now called midnight black made by PPG the only paint to use.

Brisbane used a stencil in those areas etc wiper motor and heater box.
