I have a UC with a 173. The centre of the old dizzy has dropped it's guts so I want to upgrade to an electronic one. I have a Bosch GT40R coil. What can I buy to keep the price low and reuse my coil?

THe electronic dizzy is not an upgrade.
Either rebuild the existing one or get another points dissy, if you absolutely must go electronic just get a stock unit, replace the module, get it rebuilt and get a coil to suit. Budget $300 all up.
Your money is far better spent fixing the existing one though.

Bomber, what's the advantages of a points dizzy over an electronic unit?

On closer inspection it seems the points have already been converted to an electronic unit, so I might as well stick with what I've got.
Rotor is a Bosch unit but obviously not original. Made to pass through the magnet and sensor.

Apparently Bosch no longer make the kits or the replacement rotors. However if I use a standard rotor I can install one of these stealth units pictured below. Made in the UK.

Getting back to the original post, what did you mean by "The centre of the old dizzy has dropped it's guts" ? If it's the advance mechanism that you mean, your problem won't be fixed by fitting an electronic conversion.

As I removed the distributor cap, the carbon conductor fell out. I have since replaced it, but the rotor also needed replacing which created further issues.
Cheers.
