Hi all,

Just wondering, is the control rod and attaching hardware the same on the column shift and the floor shift autos?
If so I am in luck, if not does anyone have one?

These are the bits I need. Pic courtesy of StretchLC

Edit:
I suppose a better question is, can I use parts from the column shift auto control rod and linkages on the floor shift?

I would say no. But if you have an auto shift column and rod I am interested in buying.

No worries, if I find all the bits, I’ll let you know

I have managed to find all the parts in the pic, however, I am missing out on the housing assembly and the console shift indicator (the silver bit circled in yellow)

Would anyone have a spare one?

Thats what I thought.

Failing me acquiring one, I think I'll have to fashion a homemade one. It doesn't look too hard a bit of MDF painted with silver frost and a couple of holes.

Thanks for the offer Grant but I have those bits sorted now.
All that I have left to find now is the orange indicator needle as MAZ pointed out.

Next part in this saga: Fitting the thing.

I have drilled and fitted the console but the shifter hits on the front and the rear of the silver insert. So much that it restricts the shifter changing into either Park or 1st.

Is there a spacer or something that was suposed to go in between the shifter assembly and the body or am I missing something else like screwing the console down tighter? (I don't want to crack the console)

Things I have tried:

Unscrew the console and move it forward slightly, the shifter will go into Park but wont even think about goin into 1st.

Remove the carpet and underlay. This gives the shifter the full range of movement but isn't really a good solution. It also makes me think that as I said above that I might need a spacer to go under the shifter assembly.

Thoughts?
