How did you go lining up the k frame? Much easier (in my opinion) doing it like this without motor and box.

Went in really well. Less than an hour. Top went straight in and one outrigger was perfect. The other needed to be pulled in slightly. Going to  have to be very careful when putting the engine in to keep it all nice

Is it an LX K frame? I thought it was only LH's that didn't get the cover over the steering shaft coupling.

I believe it is an LX?  But I am not an expert. I am looking for a cover to get it right. Any advice is appreciated

Cover over the rag joint doesn't fit if you are planning to run extractors. Not sure about cast headers but yeah I learnt the hard way.

Also I'm pretty sure my early LX doesn't have provisions for the cover. Maybe they were still using up stock of LH k frames in early LX cars?

Maybe it was the post RTS cars that got it. I only made mention of it as an early crossmember would have different castor and camber settings for wheel alignment than a later one.

Yep can confirm my early (Feb 76) LX has no provision for the cover and had basically all late LH running gear, suspension and brakes.

It is a late 77 model so I will keep an eye out for a cover. If I can get the extractors to fit with it???

Not sure if I did the torsion rods on the boot hinges wrong but they needed some force to get them in
