I notice that the reservoir on the Wigston A9X race car has been moved to the right and wondered why you would go through the trouble? The Bob Jane car may have had the same system, but I can only find an under bonnet shot of a model for that one.

Keep the fluid a little cooler?

Maybe there's a bleeder to renew the fluid, or at least easier to catch the mess when making quick top ups?

It looks like they've even reproduced the brake fluid damage on the reservoir in the model...!

I thought I read some where that they were changed on the race cars to a larger diameter piston. Memory is vague but international truck or Bedford rings a bell. But maybe false info as well.

I'm not sure if it is a model. Bloody good one if it is. But if it is a real car then they have used a pretty wacky lens to take the photo.

I think the photo is self explanatory... that's not a standard master cylinder, look where the lines exit out the top not the side.

It's what I love about this forum. There is always someone with an answer. :spoton:  If you can find out what it is Trevor, it would be much appreciated.

Yes its a truck master (theres 2 different sizes they used depending on what was avail at the time)

To give the extra fluid required for the 4 pot calipers

They put them off to the side like that because they had to mess about with fittings to make that plastic bottle work

Some used 2 round bottles instead of the rectangular one... but due to bonnet height restrictions they also sat on the side
