Made up and welded extra plate onto each arm on the rear of the rottisserie. Prob a bit over the top but let's be honest it will be on here for a while. Now I can sleep better 77f03b994ec2e17aea02f3e5e3aac6b9.jpgadfa51fa8e82ca6bdcaccf269eba985c.jpg

Can anyone tell me what these flares are that came off of my car? L34?
I want the wider rear flares. On the repliglass website it shows them being 90mm out from the car. Mine read nearly that when laid flat on the ground.
Also the rear spoiler is cracked and I don't think it is worth fixing. The front is also a little damaged but the flares seem ok, or are the holes too big in them? The dick before has butchered the car and also used metal screws to screw them on.
Any advice or help on this would be much appreciated.
Cheers

The first photo with the tape measure is from the center of the front flare
The second one is the rear flare reading 90mmb65dc65fa831e0c1f2593d20667e854b.jpg2ff0de9483d805c945c32cd13cd25ac7.jpg00b584ec85158fcb20b0a9a878eb0309.jpg5f750aa8457ccc40230b11ebc9f2122b.jpg9452e3b062d5668825abb2762b6501e5.jpg9f1bb293c06a38ef7c462e53f4e5169d.jpg6eb086f58ed1e874507737182385a178.jpg368f0433070da571e0e3c3b43a2e493d.jpg40ac42606de77d419757d248d6c7f668.jpgf9e579e67ddded8285b4d3596732ab33.jpg0bf8c034e97e5d9642740e02747dcb9d.jpg5235be501e718f7975e953847c5860ed.jpg21c95767e75f02d0ee3dbf71b6ec14a8.jpg6e0d45352e72102a3cd2e3d53951c8f5.jpg

The rear spoiler sort of looks factory. Plastic, holes in the underside in the correct position, and they all cracked through the keyhole. The flares and front spoiler may as well go in the bin.

Thanks Shiney.
I didn't think they were any good. Didn't know if they were worth fixing.
Do you think the spoilers worth fixing? or should I just get a whole new kit?
Is repliglass the best kit going around atm?

Hi Mitch, I just fitted an ernicks kit with a rare spares plastic rear spoiler to my l34 rep.
The fit was very good with minor tweaking only. I'd highly recommend them.
BTW great job

My guess is a statesman?? HX / Z

Have a check of the yoke size as they come in a 6 cyl and an 8 - if your putting any HP through it you would want to stick with the larger size

Looks like the larger V8 Salisbury to me, possibly from a Tonner or Commodore due to a lack of "ears"

cast onto the carrier housing. The Torana top mounts have then been welded on later which is an awkward

job to do because they position half on the cast carrier and half on the axle tubes in a LH/X. Looks like someone has

gone to a lot of trouble with this diff. It's been shortened and the other mounts attached and the brakes look like

HZ or WB. I've heard of shortened Tonner or 28 spline 9 inch axles being used. All in all a pretty good A9X diff copy.

The flexible hose looks a bit stressed with the tight bends in it. Might want to revise the mount, source something shorter, or change to a solid tube possibly?

Looks like a good setup otherwise. So what stud pattern is it?

Just looking at the photo's of the way the caliper is mounted - cant say i have ever seen one mounted directly to the end of the tube

Please correct me if ii am wrong but there should be a "hat" that bolts to the end of the tube flange and the caliper bolts onto  that

The dust cover for the disc also bolts to it

with the current set up under full braking load, that is a hell of a strain on such a small thin area

The "hats" i am talking about are in the photo below

The 4 holes with the funny offset bolt to the end of the tube flange  and the caliper bolts to the other end - you can see the mounting holes at the top

Attached File  rear disc set up.png   458.42K   10 downloads

The brake hose bracket bolts onto one of the dust cover mounting holes on the "hat" -- this would eliminate that severe bend in it

I will remove the wheel and repost some pics on the weekend for you guys to have a look/inspection.
It is all new to me, could you guys send me a pic of your set up for me to compare too. After you see mine anyways.
Cheers guys

The guy I brought it off of said it had a 454 in it and it was all set up like a race car as you see from the initial pics.
Hopefully I can get it fixed up as I dont like the idea of putting Ford parts in a Holden

A9X flares are the wider ones, but in my opinion, the L34 ones look better.

Are the flares on this blue one L34 style?
That's exactly what I want mine to look like.
I even like that colour this week b3b7bed1895add8d9c06bc9863870348.jpg

I think that is Greg Manion's car, in which case they are the A9X bolt pattern flare, but they don't look as wide as the original ones.

The colour is Casino Blue.

Attached File  Greg Manion Casino Blue.jpg   164.68K   12 downloads

This gives you an idea of the size of the originals. (10 inch rims)

There were only 2 models 'factory' fitted with flares.

The LH Option L34

The LX Option A9X.

No LH's had A9X flare kits & no LX's had L34 flare kits.

Simples :)

Now factor in 45 years of aftermarket manufacturers all proclaiming their parts to be as good as genuine , yet all fitting just a little bit more wrong each time .  :furious:

The first A9X sedans did get the L34 rear flares Col. The wider ones were homologated just in time for Bathurst.
