Morning Vinnie, I have no idea about body work. It all looked good to my untrained eyes. I think the sticker on the bob tail looked to be on an angle. I think its a tough looking streeter and would drive it everyday. Can some of the guys who mentioned the beaver panel shed some light on what issue they see. I have been waiting myself to learn how to tell what is seen to be wrong. One thing I do know is good Toranas sell quick (if priced accordingly). To me its a nice colour combo and flares on a SL with no tags. If under that shiney paint was a mess then you paid for motor/box/mags you don't want and a shit load of more work and money to get it right. We all take a chance when buying a used car. We all know what we get when buying a shell and get it blasted. I just think if it had the drive line you were looking for then YES. Remove what you don't like then your paying for a painted SL Shell.

I think these are the areas in question.

BTW this was passed in for $39.300. Tags are missing in the pics and no mention of them in the add.

So, I just started zooming in on all the panels / gaps / and general finish and condition. Never zoomed with only intensions to try and find faults. I will be off line for a bit as I will be looking, I mean zooming over mine :)

Koalasprint, yeah that's where I was looking. I think it was Bigfella who pointed it out.

Any who, have already found another one but will see how it goes (fingers crossed)

I know you found another car, but just to round-out the subject, compare your photo...

Some pics for reference

...with (what I believe to be) an unmolested example from an A9X for sale on Aust. Muscle Cars a while ago...

...and there's no big secret. The most obvious thing is that the seams on each side are gone on the green car, as is the little relief / fold in the centre where the fuel filler neck is.

And I'm guessing the green car had a towbar until recently (and the driver really sucked at judging distances) as that explains one of the holes in the beaver panel (for trailer wiring) and all the marks on the bumper and around the number plate. Although those other two holes look suspiciously like rust holes to me?

But more than that, it just looks like unfinished body filler. Once you've seen this enough times it stands-out like the dog's proverbials. Panel beaters (& spray painters for that matter) are notorious for having bad backs, ie. not finishing the underside of things like beaver and sill panels!

It's really bloody stupid actually, 1 extra hour spent on that rear beaver panel would've made a world of difference, and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
