G'day all.
I have a LC trimatic column shift. The supercharged 202 I've fitted leaves no room for the column shift linkages so I need to fit a floor shift. I imagine it's easy to do but I'll take any help out there. Also if anyone wants a column shift we can do a swap if you have a standard column in serviceable condition.
So any tips or complete description on the job would be great. Also need the tunnel cutout but I've seen it before so a quick search should do the trick. I searched for help on this job but it's all manual to auto or vice versa.
Thanks.

You can just use the column shift column still if you don't care how it looks once you have removed the stick from the coffee pot. In the engine bay you can't really tell anyway. So your retaining the trimatic then?

^^^ an after thought- just buy blank shrouds for the top of the column

If you have/had a column shift Trimatic then the selector lever will be on the wrong side of the trans for most floor shifters, but maybe you could find a very early model that had the shift lever on the right?

Also, I don't think there was ever a conclusive answer as to exact lengths, but the lever on the floor shifter you get has to match the selector lever that bolts onto the transmission, if the travel of each lever is mismatched then the detents in the trans won't line up with the gates in the shifter and you will have trouble getting the full range of movement.

The rod that connects the two can be any length required, it's just the lever length that matters.

Thanks guys. Yep I'm keeping the trimatic. It's the old type with the mech kick down.

I'm happy to take the stick off and fit a cover, I just wanted to make sure nobody wanted a column shift for a straight swap. Would be a shame to waste if someone was chasing one.

I'm thinking of fitting a b & m, possibly quicksilver quick shift. Looks like it's just a cable and fits pretty easy. This is only info I've read. If anybody can tell me more, or otherwise, that would be great.
