Yeah probably ,I had other stuff done as well ,so it wasn't just the screws,I just want to know what's correct for a 71 LC Torana.

I doubt they would have messed around with slot head screws on the assembly line. Phillips drive are faster to work with.
It was common for panel shops to replace the lost original screws with slot head self tappers.

True.yeah I'm convinced now.Just goes to show you,even if the car looks 100% original and untouched ,things get changed over its lifetime and non original screws and bolts are used.Dam ,wasted my time getting those zinc plated didn't I ?I doubt they would have messed around with slot head screws on the assembly line. Hi Paul, those slotted screws look like your everyday hardware shop wood screw from the 70's. Definitely don't look like a car part.

i used marine grade stainless steel phillips head, old screws were rusted and rounded..
