Hi all I'm thinking about re zinc-ing the rear brake components in the rear drums ,like adjuster ,springs and stuff ,can some suggest what can be done ,thanks Paul.

This gives me abit of an idea!(thanks to the person who posted this)can the adjuster be zinc plated?

It's better if you don't zinc plate the adjuster, unless you completely recut the male & female threads. These are a fairly precise thread & need to operate smoothly for adjustment purposes.

The shoe return springs in my L34 were forrest green.

I've just noticed I don't have the brake adjuster lever pivot plate and the brake adjuster link or the brake adjuster overload spring,I'm not sure if they were removed and not put back in ,can they operate without them?

Yeah I'm thinking so Terra,I only have the adjusters themselves ,unless they are in another box ,I don't think so somehow.

hi paul

mate i thought about re zinc those bits to

but i thought they would soon be covered in brake dust and 

you dont see them anyway, those adjusters were often  not put back

on to..not sure why, maybe kept adjusting till brakes locked?

G,Day Johnno,that's true about the brake dust ,they weren't in very good shape whith some surface rust so I decided to zinc plate,but now I'm on the hunt for the missing bits ,cheers Paul.
