As its been raining lately, thought I better fix my wipers. At first I started with my new multi metre. Not having used one before I found it very frustrating due to it being faulty. Thinking I was doing something wrong I spent an hour or more before realising it was a non worker. Turned the wipers on and started tracing the wires. Hoping the motor was ok to save a dollar. Now I wish it was the motor. Turns out both wipers are seized. The old double whammy. So I am laying on my bonnet wondering why I have a interest in older cars. Why GMH didn't just do the screws through the top like the other side. I have one more bolt to undo and havnt even got the spanner on it after half hour. I could come in through the dash but trying not to take to much apart. So I you want to contact me I now have a letter box mounted to the tail gate, I wonder what the next door neighbours think when they see me laying on the bonnet taking pictures in the cavity to work out whats required to undo the wiper. I have dropped the 8mm spanner a few times but always seem to find another on drivers side floor. I am over working on cars

Hi Ray.  Are you talking about wiper motor in the Hatch? I've just replaced mine after being reconditioned and didn't seem that difficult, albeit I don't have the cowl on yet.  Cheers Ron

Hey Ron, Nah this WB ute. I have had to do so many repairs. Its an old car and expected. My work ute is having trouble with front brakes (return sliders). I have been so busy with work so I pulled out the WB thinking should get me through. Its been issue after issue, not to mention one of my biggest customers informed me there was a complaint about the smell of the fumes when I was there doing some Load Certification in there warehouse. It has to be fixed at some time but was never aware they seize up until a few days ago. I should probably switch to the work vehicle but struggling to motivate myself. Have so much work that needs doing and didn't think it would be this difficult.      Rainman

Thanks Ron, cheers mate :), so I have them both out. That one bolt made me use the spanner right to the very end. It felt like it was 1 Million metres long. So help me as I am not as young as I used to be. Not sure how many persons have done this before but that was a slug. I feel after that I could get work as a gynaecologist or at the very least Look into It lol.    Going for a long shower and taking a six pack    Rainman

Soaking the left hand wiper pivot since yesterday. Broke pivot today. Purchased Left and Right used pivots with arms today for $115.00 delivered. They look good and will save a lot of mental abuse. Think I might see if I can find some wing nut bolts with the same thread bit shorter and spring washer. Rainman

Finished a few weeks back, thought a few pics always finishes a thread. Didn't want to pay the $275.00 for Washer/Coolant bottle. Complete unit bottle with all the parts required $36.00 I think.
