question for proper painters

I do my own spraying and do reasonable job but not a pro

I have a LC I bought 10 years back and had been painted couple of years before in Protec 604 2 pack

but they didn't take out windscreens or do inside / under boot / bonnet

so I had paint matched and did all that

then couple of years ago blisters appeared in the paint in some spots, not my painting

I thought rust bubbles so left for later

then last week thought time to fix as am selling the car, cleaned back the blistered paint

no rust, black primer still visible

my question is what causes the blisters?,

I noticed some on my GTR the other day as well

acrylic paint, I did all the prep work but a professional  spray painter friend offered to spray, no cost

Could be a number of things, but more than likely moisture in the air line. The blisters are sometimes referred to humidity blisters.

I'd agree with Dave, did the black primer lift from the steel when the blisters formed ? To be honest those black etch primers are absolutely shit & that's why they're cheap, no anti rust properties at all in them.

the black etch primer is still there under the blister with the 2 pack

when my GTR was done there was a moisture trap in the system

I will paint on low humidity days and fit another water trap

thanks for answers
