Haven't posted on here for a while so lets see if it still works.

As I am mainly a panel and paint kind of guy I have a question that hopefully someone may be able to help with. I have a stock standard LX hatchback which I am about to register and I want to change the stud pattern from torana to commodore without changing the standard brakes. I am planning a rotisserie build on this car soon but at the moment want to run commodore wheels.

Any suggestions or comments to help in completing my goal or maybe even try and talk me out it would be much appreciated.

I'd try to talk you out of it, hard to find wheels with the correct offset. Ford 5x4.5" would give a much better selection.

The front end is relatively simple as you can modify the disc hubs to the different stud pattern. Back not so easy as the standard axles for the small drums are quite small in diameter.

What is your goal exactly?

I have Commodore pattern and think it would have been simpler to go HQ for wheel choice but it's too late now. I wanted VL Walkinshaw wheels and was stubborn enough to make them fit.

I have VN discs on the front which have a different height to Torana discs so my wheels look like the right offset.

Read end has VN discs on a 9" but had to be wider than standard Torana

Don't know about keeping your standard brakes and changing pattern,

As above, what are you trying to do?

Seems like a lot of hard work and money

However I have always wanted a set of widened interceptors/persuits/Steelies on a Torana.

I’ve done this using ford stud pattern.
Have a post on here somewhere with all the details.

Nice they will look really tuff at 17x10.
Why do they have holes all round and two slots in one area?

I wanted a set of commodore pursuits widened to x8 for the rear and stock width up from.
I used to think commodore and HQ were the same stud pattern but have since learnt they are not.

Currently chasing a set of HQ Steelies with a 14x7 for the rear.
14x5.5 or 6 for the front.

Just realised you were in Brisbane.
Talk to Bruce at Race Engineering. They make/modify.
The tyre shop was impressed with how round and balanced mine were.
