Folks paid that sort of money for Mustangs - then they made them from factory right hand drive and sold them for 50k.

Why would you pay 95k now for a car that when they produce right hand drive will be half the price?

Should have been badged - sucker...

dont mind the Camaro...but still comparing it to SS/HSV...I guess we need to let that go, as it is now irrelevant.
Might just take me a year to get my head there ..

Being a hsv owner for a long time now , i did buy my first mustang in 2016 & you cant compare the two cars. Also the dealer didnt have a demo model to test drive & if they did i wouldn'thave bought one & waited 10 months for delivery.
I didnt keep the mustang long at all & sold it at a nice profit
Anyway i will be taking delivery of a new black camaro in October i have been told from suttons in Sydney & will be driving it straight to Tassie to run it in.
Will post pics when available

One thing I hate about alot of new non SUV cars is the shoulder height door sill. Barely have your head poking above the door

It's amazing what a country can produce when the wages start at seven bucks an hour. Could be a lesson there somewhere.............

Half of the components are probably made in Mexico, like most 'USA made' products

The ATO has a very high reliance on personal income tax for most of its revenue. When Australia is compared to most other countries we certainly are out of whack, especially with our extreme average wage, high 49% marginal tax rate (at at a very low income level vs many of the other oced countries). The high wages are also effecting house pricing and the general cost of doing business. It's a key reason why manufacturing of anything in Australia is becoming an obsolete indulgence. Even our fuel is imported, about the only thing we do well is sell our minerals and primary products like wheat, wool and livestock.

We won't be selling livestock for much longer if our Minister for Agriculture gets her way.

The first drive on Aussie soil by Motor magazine didn't sound too promising Tony. It seems like it will need MRC and some tweaks to the power steering before it gets anywhere close to the VF GTS capabilities.

Went to local Holden Dealer today to sit in, start her up and go over the this new model. $100K non negotiable dealer reckons. Says only 550 available between here and NZ.

Anyway must say it at least sounded very nice!

good report...a mate checked them out at local HSV the other weekend , liked them but said the view to outside was horrendous ( as per this report). Then again HSV Maloos arent actually easy to see out of, and I guess most 2 door sporty cars are a bit similar.
These Camaros look tough as, and probably arent daily drivers anyway, most of the time.
If I had a spare 100k, I'd be onto one.

Think I would wait until they make it in RHD drive and it costs the same as a mustang. But it certainly look pretty nice!

I’m used to the blind spots been driving Maloos for 12 years.
The yanks won’t be making camaros in right hand drive but will be making the corvettes in right hand drive, which makes more sense

I'm not convinced. In WA it will be close to 100k for the Chevy Cocoon with its quirky, squeaky interior, useless back seats, bad paint job and gutless motor. We were building cars here that would put this thing to shame if GM didn't shut us down. Give me a second hand GTS any day.
