Hi Guys its been a while since I've been active in here.

The bug has bitten and im starting to assemble my SS. After going to Mums and sorting out all the parts i discovered my rear seats have seen better days. The upper section rear wooden panels are rotted to the point i cant even use them as stencils to cut new ones.

WTF do i do?

Thanks Guys!

John

Hi, I'm trying to picture what part you are referring to.  I pulled mine apart some years ago but don't recall any wooden pieces. Any pics of them or others as I may have the originals somewhere that I can measure up.  Cheers Ron

John,  here is a photo of mine.  I will have to remove the carpet and try and do a stencil but I can tell you it virtually follows the carpet.  Not sure at this stage how it is fixed to the seat frame.  Cheers Ron

hope this works

John, the above post is not entirely correct. Yes it follows the carpet however it continues straight down where the lower bolts mount.  Attached is a pic of the back without the carpet and I have roughly run masking tape along the edges of it to give you a better idea.  The simplest way to follow it is that it follows the seam of the trim from where it wraps around the back of the seat. It is 10 mm chipboard and from top to bottom is (to the best measurement) 410mm.  There is an additional piece fixed to the underside of the board that captures the 2 lower bolt holes of the earlier pic and continues down below the front piece, from where the piano hinge is. I will have to measure this again as I forgot  (getting old, or older).  I also saw an old pic on google of the seat getting trimmed for a give away some years ago.  The company doing the trim were Auto Image Car Interiors in Thomastowm ( bit closer to you) and they may be able to help as well. Let me know if I can provide anything further.    .  trim

Thanks so much for the detailed pics mate. That helps heaps. My brother in law is an Upholsterer but not for cars. He has pulled my seats apart and with the help of your pics is gonna try make new ones.

The lower long hinges are rooted as well but you can buy long hinges pretty much anywhere. Im also in need for passenger side latch as that doesn't even look like a latch anymore

All i can say is don't go for too long without laying eyes on your car.

Glad to be back rodo!

Thanks

John
