So i have a aussie 4 speed which i reckon is from an early commodore.Has a cable clutch setup.  Its going on a 186 , i have a red motor flywheel, clutch plate and pressure plate but no thrust bearing. Ive read that there are various thrust bearings for aussie 4 speeds and im not sure which one im going to need? Do i get the one that suits the gearbox or the one that suits the clutch ? If they are different?

anyone done this before? any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

There is a difference in length between cable and rat trap thrust bearings from memory. Probably because the forks pivot differently. If I remember tomorrow, I'll have a look.

If you are using the cable clutch bell housing & fork you will need to use the correct thrust bearing to suit. The CT22 thrust bearing from the 'rat trap' push type clutch mechanism will not work with the Commodore cable clutch pull type fork.

Hi Brett.  I would suggest you give Dellow Conversions in Sydney a call.  They will be able to answer your questions.  There is also a thread here "Cable Clutch throwout bearing" which has some info.  Cheers Ron

thanks for the replys . So it sounds like its the fork that depicts what bearing to use then? not the clutch itself?
