Need new front carpet (rear is still good so not replacing) for my May 72 XU1. Believe the carpet in it is the original from new so naturally want the replacement to be as close to this as possible. Have a couple of questions in particular the drivers heel mat, heat seal/seam around the handbrake hole and the hem (outer edge of carpet). See photos as to what I mean. I want to replace the carpet with the exact same looking carpet and use the exact handbrake seam/outer hem and assume I will have to sew all these into the new carpet.

My 1st question is to ensure that my carpet is in fact the original to start with otherwise I'm copying the wrong style. Can anyone who still has their original carpet in their LJ whether it be a 4 door I don't think it matters, as long as it is the original and from mid 72, just want photos of the underneath of the carpet as well as the handbrake surround and heel mat. Trying to keep everything authentic looking.

I will then need to know where to buy this carpet and who does the best work. Doesn't matter which state. Appreciate anyone that post these photos for me.

Classic loop from Knox.  http://www.knoxautoc...j-ta-1969-1973/

They used to put the hand brake cut out in. Looks exactly like the photo.

The hand brake cutout is in the rear carpet peice, so I reckon you'll be replacing all of it. It'll look better too as the old carpet is sure to have faded somewhat over the years
