Hi,

I have a new carpet to install to my LC 2 door. I’m wondering if I should just fit the front seats on top of the carpet or if there is a better way.
Any tips and pictures would be appreciated.

Cheers
Paul

Too difficult to explain, but the seats do not sit on the carpet. Best if you can look at someone's carpet to see how the carpet is cut to allow the seats runners to sit on the floor pan. Sorry I can't be much more help.

You basically cut slits into the carpet where the seat runners sit and the carpet then folds back and covers seat runner bolts.

Just following up, I followed Daves advice and cut slits along the seat track. I put the bolts in the floor first (yellow in the pic) then I cut inbetween them (red bit) once I put the seat in, I made a T cut at the end so the carpet would sit nicely around the seat runners. I didn't need to but I put some off cuts inside the runners just to finish off the look a bit nicer.

I'm sure someone from the production line is laughing anytime he hears about someone replacing the seats/wiper motor/heater box. I had forgotten how hard those bolts were to get out let alone put back in.

One seat in.
