Hi guys. Can anyone recommend or have used anyone to inspect a vehicle interstate before purchase. I am in Qld and am interested in a car in country Victoria and are wondering if any of the advertised services are any good.Thanks for any help with this.  DALE

Hi Dale.
I just purchased a 1992 HSV from Perth and I'm in Melbourne
I used VIP for the pre purchase inspection. I couldn't recommend them enough.

Haven't had one done for a long time but NRMA used to do pre-purchase inspections, although I wouldn't really recommend them either. I've seen people happy with a car they're about to purchase, then the NRMA report picks the crap out of every insignificant little thing wrong with it just to make themselves look good and it sours the whole deal.

 

Your best bet is to find someone here who might be close enough to go have a look for you? You'd have to pay for an inspection anyway so throw some petrol-money in with the request, but you will obviously have to be a little more specific than "country Victoria" and exactly which model etc. (some people know more about some models than others)?

What type of vehicle is it?

Hi guys. The car I am looking at isn't a torana but the bloke does have toranas. I don't know if he is on this forum or not and I don't want to upset anyone so after Daz recommendation above I have decided to give vip a try.Hopefully I will have a good experience like Daz. Thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions it is very much appreciated.I don't post very often but do come on most days for a look at the conversations.This forum has been invaluable to me with my hatch and when ever I have needed to ask a question because I couldn't find what I was looking for someone has always come to my rescue.It truly is a wealth of knowledge on here and I do truly appreciate all the help I get from here. Thank you all again Dale.

I haven't used VIP but be wary that they may know a lot of general car stuff, but not a lot about specific older models like toranas and where the problems are on those cars
