Hi all. I decided not to put the front shocks in before I put the front end in. So front end in and go to put the shocks through the LCA and guess what, they don't fit. Rang Pedders who advised, yeah been like that for many years. Marginally larger diameter and just need to file down virtually a coat of paint. Well, I've done one side and needs a bit more than a coat of paint filed off and, being freshly painted LCA now needs a touch-up before the shock goes in. Hope this saves someone some grief in the future. Cheers Ron

Thanks for sharing Ron. I might have ended up in the same boat. I'm putting a UC front end into my LX. The new shocks are Koni. I know the UC has a larger shocker hole. I better test my assumption that the Koni's will slide in and out!
Cheers, Steve.

No worries Steve. Nice to think I can help someone. A bit different from seeking advice all the time. Good luck with it. Cheers Ron

Have just spent the last couple of months stripping and painting all front end conponents so not very impressed.
Rang Pedders and he said that that are listed for LH Torana and had never heard of this before. THEY DONT FIT so hopefully you read this thread before you have the same issue.

I'm happy to fit shocks that DON'T fit thru the arms
Cause if they do they are small bore and probably not much chop
I've always fitted fatties... pop the ball joint off the top and let the lower arm drop down and feed the shock in from the top
Most suppliers know their shocks don't fit thru the arms and actually put it in their catalogues - such as KYB

If you were to fit a proper shock and it was doing the job properly it should prob be able to break those 2 little bolts that hold the bottom of the shock in.
Just food for thought as to what is actually available.

Im actually currently fitting penske’s to mine, just from trying to push on shock the difference is absolutely huge compared to my old double adjustable big bodied koni’s.
Cant wait to see how they perform
