Hi,

After a little help. My Aussie 4 Speed is jamming in reverse and a little hard to cross the gate to select second.

Firstly, suggestions on the probable cause and the rectification.

Secondly, can someone recommend a reputable manual gearbox mob - Im a Melbourne.

Many thanks

Brian

I would suggest worn linkages or wear in shifter if you have used car for a while and nothing been done to gearbox / shifter

recently.

grooves wear in the connecting areas and put adjustment out.

rods and holes

For reverse gear getting stuck, check the adjuster nut has not come loose and moved forward, this is why there should be to 2 nuts on the end , 1 for correct adjustment and 1 to lock it in place,
I have had this happen to me before, a easy fix...
Hopefully this solves 1 issue.

Agree with limo if it's got an old shifter or sloppy linkages it was common for them to bind eventually jamming in gears 1st & reverse untill you got under there to pry them apart.

Check adjustment of linkages or renew.
