Hi, Recently I discovered an LC steering wheel wouldn't fit on my two door, so the spline is a larger diameter and the wheel won't even go on.
So a friend said he had a steering shaft with the right spline but the thread is damaged, I can get the thread fixed but he also said it was a HT Holden shaft but was sure it was the same shaft as the LC.
So before I get the thread fixed I am wondering if anyone could tell me if the shaft is the same length and diameter between the LC and HT.
Thanks in advance for any replies if any.
Steering shaft LC vs HT

I know the HT steering shaft is partially splined on the lower end for the steering coupling but whether the overall shaft length and diameter is the same as LC

I think the collapsible slip join on Holden steering shafts are all the same so it shouldn't be too hard to change the top half to one that suits your steering wheel and slide it into your original bottom section, you'll need to drill and fit new plastic pins as well
I didn't think of that, but I have the whole faft so hoping it was the same, I will have to take it all out and compare it I guess,, it has to come out anyway. I was just hoping well still am that someone knew they were the same length so I could get the thread repaired before I took mine out

Even when the collapsible pins have sheared it is impossible to separate the top and bottom shafts.

That might be the best way, this faft needs repairs to the thread, but if I get a faft from you I will know exactly what it is out of,
Thats if your prepared to let go of a faft because I have a feeling everyone might want one soon once they catch on, pretty rare to get a good faft
Are the fafts easy to change over, or is it easier to just change the column

Just takes a bit of persuasion, I did one last week.
