Been a while since I posted here but have been busy with another project to keep busy with..

Bought this HJ 1 Tonner back in early 2000 and offloaded it to the old man whilist the Torana was getting panel and paint..

Dad painted it Midnight Blue added gas to the 253 and used it to get to work...

When I was in Newman I needed a 2nd car so bought it back off Dad... Did a couple of little mods

Decided to do the Sea change to Wickham in 2012 so shipped the Torana back to mum and dads (as I had no where to store)..

Umm and arrrd with what to do with the tunna as we settled into Wickham, Lucky enough we was able to build a shed so in it went and the rebuild began..

Those "QuickGrips" are a great little invention, right up until you start welding the bits you are holding with them!!! I wish they would make them out of steel.

What is with the 44 full of arrows? Enduro???

Yeah definetly good until the heat kills the plastic. they are still being used now so they do last.

Arrows are for enduro marking in Newman was one of the last tracks I marked out. Plenty of good riding up here.

So it time to have a play with the tray. So got some 3 inch pipe for the head board and 12 inch rolled mudguards. At this stage is when I wished I got all new steel as the tray wasn't square at all. But a cut here there got it pretty good in the end

Then it was off with cab. One those jobs I didn't really want to do but made it easier to fix the sills and floors.

So goodbye 253 and lift the cab

Freshen up the chassis with some paint and all new suspension gear thanks to Kingswood country kit (burger with the lot) now able to move around again.

Good to see some other Pilbara people here - although I don't plan to be here for much longer as a move back to Perth in on the cards for the start of next year.

Cheers ShaneGTR, There are a few nice Cars up this way.

Next job was the Cab, With no decent spare Cabs around I jumped in the deep end and persevered with what I had.

So the was rust quite a bit of it, the plenum was a headache.

So there was a bit work that went into this plenum, I had to remove the old one and replace the rusty bits with some new steel.

Was able to source a decent plenum from a wreck so unpicked it and replaced the corner and welded into place. By this time I was over grinding.

Sorted the firewall out, Preped the floor and inside. Gave a primer and finished off with some Black paint.

Then it was time to seal the cab and install it back on the chassis

The drivers guard needed some work and I had 3 to choose from yet all were not the best, so I made 1 decent guard out off 2. Welded in some GTS flutes and etched primed.

Moved onto the passenger side guard, Front corner needed a small amount off tapping to get its shape back. Stripped back the Stato nosecone and sealed.
