Well done! I was just googling around last night and came across this. Listed as a Mercruiser. I thought that has to be made by GM, looks too much like a Starfire!

 

It took a fair bit of googling to find out that GM make them for Mercruiser.

There's an article somewhere about a turboed one of these in a little Pommy sportscar. They are a popular motor in speedway apparently.

Weren't these made in Mexico and were a copy the Chevy 6 cylinder minus 2 pots.

Sometimes referred to as the Mexican chev.

So yes similar in theory to a Starfire.
