Hi,

I’m looking for recommendations for someone to bush and potentially rebuild my HS6 SU’s.
Prefer in the northern suburbs but don’t mind a drive either.

Cheers

Frank at Pro Action, may have to search facebook for him, he used to be at Pro Action spares before they closed years ago, he still rebuilds carbs & distributors & is damn good at it, I don't have his contact details here tho.

Sorry to thread steal, Tony can i please ask you, what brand of valves i should change to in my xu1 head, when i remove the Yella Terra's, will obviously change the seats too, so a brand there would be good aswell, i was thinking of the Che guides like i believe you use. Thanks in advance, Gary.

I've used Pro Action Spares for years for carbs and was disappointed when I heard they closed!

If Frank is the same person doing still doing carbs, then I'll give him a thumbs up!

Gary - k-lines for the guides, done right they're as good as anything.
For valves you can go your basic EVL, which are good valves, or you can step up to pep-pro, few more $ but they're a proper single piece performance valve with undercut stems & profiled heads.
If seat inserts are required get your machinist to supply them.

Mick - same Frank, same good work!

I have come by an original HD 179 X2 carburettor and manifold setup which is more or less complete. I’m after a recommendation for someone in SA to supply parts and advice.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Clay
