hi have read alot on here about this but just checking are uc axles the same as lx.. trying to cut a set down for fine spline axles for a lj diff

any help would be great

For all the hassle you are going through you should look at getting a set made from scratch. The cost difference is probably not as great as you think and they will be much stronger. Might get a few dollars for your UC fine splines.

Of course you will still have the limiting factor of the banjo centre.

If your after fine spline axles for an LC/LJ, axles from a Gemini are a better choice, they the same length, just need the flange drilled to suit Torana.

thanks guys .. rexy the uc axles fell through so back to lx.. i can get the axles for free and about 120 per axle to get cut down so for about 250 i would be ok 

thanks warrenm for info on gemini axles might do some asking around see how i go 

the long story is a guy said he had axles for me a can drop of to the guy that can do them.. he has a good work shop himself but its been 6 months and still no axles.. i have found the place he said he took them to so will go there my self and see if they do have them and whats the hold up.. just getting f#$%% around at the moment and wont my diff done..

i no i can do my self but dont want to upset the guy 

i will go there and see and give one more month.. if no go will get the axles i can get for free and take the pair to the shop and work out with the guy that dose it myself 

thats my rant for the day

well all done.. went with course spline axles.. so just had the center rebuilt  with the new gear set i picked up (brand new 3.9) $180 bucks new in original box,,, very happy with it now move on to next chapter.. going to put on dyno and see witch carby is better.. my 450 qf or my new 570 qf   my the better carby win

will be interesting to see.. the 450 had to be jetted up a lot .. will post results prob in a month or so
